HTC releases Beats Audio, lockscreen APIs for developers

Cellphone maker HTC has released its Beats Audio-specific app programming interfaces (APIs) to developers, allowing them to integrate the functions to their own apps. Thus far, Beats Audio enhancements are only present in the native audio player of compatible handsets, which will soon include Windows Phone devices. Beats Audio in HTC phones is a set of software-based audio enhancements that are turned on automatically when the bundled Beats in-ear headphones are plugged in.

At the same time, HTC has revealed a Lockscreen API, letting developers give users access to their apps through the Sense UI.

Finally, HTC let devs access their mobile device management API. A sharing of Media Link HD APIs, for its namesake new media sharing device, is also expected soon
