Kyocera DuraPlus arrives at Sprint on March 11

The promised Kyocera DuraPlus coming to Sprint has now received a ship date of March 11. The rugged, push-to-talk-capable handset meets the US military's 810G specs for resistance to dust, shock, vibration, extreme temperatures, and immersion in up to three feet of water for up to 30 minutes. The handset also has a built-in LED flashlight with its own power button.

A remote speaker/microphone jack exists for connecting a heavy-duty speaker that's a separate accessory. Businesses who issue the devices to shift employees can also eventually order a single- or multi-bay charging station. There is no camera onboard, as camera phones are restricted from some workplaces.

The phone carries a two-inch, 240x320 display along with a removable, 1,650mAh battery that promises up to 9.5 hours of talk time.

It will cost $70 on a two-year contract.
